Building a Story-Driven Video Campaign to Strengthen Brand & Drive Recruitment
I created a story-driven video campaign to support teacher recruitment by highlighting authentic experiences and strengthening emotional connection with candidates.
The Challenge
Achievement First needed to attract high-quality educators while differentiating its brand in a competitive hiring landscape.
Traditional recruitment messaging lacked emotional connection and didn’t fully capture the experience of working at the organization.
My Thinking
The opportunity was to shift from transactional messaging to story-driven storytelling.
I identified that the most compelling differentiator was the experience:
Support and coaching
Belief in student potential
A mission-driven environment
So I focused on:
Real voices over scripted messaging
Emotional connection over information-heavy content
Storytelling to show, not just tell
The Approach
A. Narrative Development
Built a story arc highlighting growth, experience, and impact.
B. Interview-Driven Storytelling
Centered authentic teacher and staff voices to build trust.
C. Scriptwriting & Messaging
Balanced emotional storytelling with clear messaging and calls to action.
D. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Worked with creative teams to align storytelling, visuals, and messaging.
The Outcome
Strengthened emotional resonance of recruitment marketing
Created cohesive, story-driven video assets
Clarified brand positioning around support and impact
Elevated overall storytelling approach
What I’d Do Next
Add performance tracking across recruitment funnel
Test messaging variations
Expand into short-form and social-first video
